Bounty0x is a decentralized bounty management platform that provides a reputation review system based on the concept of staking and burning tokens as rewards. Within the Bounty0x network community, there are three roles: Bounty Issuers, Bounty Hunters, and Bounty Sheriffs. "Bounty Issuers" can post bounties, distribute payments, and accept submissions from Bounty Hunters. "Bounty Hunters" can submit work and receive bounties, while "Bounty Sheriffs" perform validation checks through the use of BNTY tokens. BNTY tokens ensure that all participants in a bounty campaign are honest and have legitimate authority.
Use Cases
Bounty Issuer
Anyone can post a bounty task and set a bounty for each. In the past, to manage a bounty campaign, the issuer needed to verify the eligibility of Bounty Hunters, assign tasks to each user, review task completion, determine payment addresses, and make final payments, correcting potential errors throughout the campaign.
With Bounty0x, companies, entities, or governments can simply register to set up campaigns, post new bounty listings with requirements, details, and bounties. Users search, accept, and complete tasks, which are then reviewed by Bounty Sheriffs.
Bounty Issuers can choose to launch various bounty campaigns. The bounty verification mechanism may vary depending on the type of bounty task. For example, some bounty tasks can be verified through an automated process, some can be manually reviewed by the Bounty Issuer, and some can be reviewed by Bounty Sheriffs.
Bounty Hunter
Bounty Hunters can directly participate in any bounty campaign they wish. Bounty Hunters can search, accept tasks, and submit work through the platform. Bounty Hunters will find their bounties in their profiles and need to manually transfer Bounty0x tokens to compatible wallets.
Bounty0x has a built-in reputation system that startups can use to identify potential candidates. Whenever Bounty Hunters receive their tokens, Bounty0x converts these tokens into ETH amounts and ranks them based on these amounts. Bounty Hunters build and maintain their reputation by providing high-quality work, which benefits them in future bounty opportunities. The network will also provide hunter leaderboards based on bounty task categories.
Bounty Sheriff
Bounty0x will offer an option for Bounty Issuers to have bounty campaigns reviewed before payment. This review role will be performed by third-party reviewers known as "Bounty Sheriffs." Anyone can purchase BNTY tokens on the open market to earn a sheriff badge, granting them the power to review bounty tasks for correct completion.
Sheriffs stake BNTY, and only after successful verification do users receive payment. To prevent bounty tasks from being incorrectly reviewed, there will be a process involving multiple reviewers for the same bounty, with a simple majority determining the final outcome. If a Bounty Sheriff performs an incorrect review, a portion of the staked BNTY tokens will be burned.
Bounty Types
Bounty0x aims to become a one-stop platform assisting Bounty Issuers in launching their bounty campaigns. To achieve this, we will support popular bounty tasks of today and offer feedback forms for users to suggest new bounty ideas.
On the Bounty0x network, bounties are categorized into three types: Simple Bounties, Sheriff Bounties, and Super Bounties. This classification system allows Bounty0x to expand to any imaginable bounty task.
1. Simple Bounties
Bounties in this category will be automatically checked by Bounty0x algorithms and APIs, with no human involvement in the review process. This method is suitable for tasks of a quantitative nature.
2. Sheriff Bounties
Bounties in this category will be reviewed by Bounty Sheriffs on our platform, who will receive rewards for performing accurate reviews. This method is suitable for tasks of a qualitative nature, allowing non-team members to participate in reviews.
3. Super Bounties
Super Bounties are reviewed for task completion by project owners or managers. This method is suitable for advanced technical tasks or goal-oriented tasks.
Project Utility
1. Bounty Hunters Use of BNTY
- How to use: Bounty Hunters must stake BNTY to participate in "Super Bounties." If a Super Bounty submission is rejected, such as an incorrect report, the Bounty Hunter will lose a portion of their staked tokens.
- Why: "Super Bounties" are manually checked by startup team members. Therefore, ensuring the quality of all submitted tasks is crucial to avoid wasting personal time.
2. Bounty Sheriffs Use of BNTY
- How to use: Bounty Sheriffs must stake BNTY to participate in bounty task reviews. If they perform incorrectly, they will lose a portion of their staked tokens. If they perform correctly, they can receive additional BNTY and bounty tokens from the startup.
Why: As a quality control mechanism. Bounty Sheriffs are economically incentivized to execute accurate reviews.
3. Bounty Issuers Use of BNTY
- How to use: Bounty Issuers must stake BNTY to post new bounty tasks. If the task is rejected due to violation of Bounty0x principles, a portion of the staked tokens will be burned.
- Why: To incentivize Bounty Issuers to only post quality bounty tasks.
Bounty0x will conduct token buyback programs quarterly based on profitability, primarily aiming to stabilize the price of BNTY used in the staking mechanism.
Centralized Project Management
Bounty0x will ultimately operate as a decentralized DAO. After the District0x community creates the platform and implements the d0xInfra protocol, the Bounty0x platform will migrate to the community on the District0x platform. Bounty0x community members staking DNT will be able to share profits quarterly and participate in community platform governance through the Aragon entity.
The Bounty0x community will become the primary governing body for the Bounty0x platform. We believe Bounty Hunters should be able to assist in Bounty0x governance since changes made to the platform directly impact them. Bounty0x community staff will be able to leverage the Aragon entity to engage in network management. Migrating the platform to the community is a key milestone in our roadmap.
