| Coin Intro | "NEO Name Credit, abbreviated as NNC, has a total supply of 100,000,000 NNC.
The NNC token is the native coin of the Neo Name System (NNS), which was launched in June 2019, with a total supply of 1,000,000,000 NNC.
NNS is the NEO domain name system, a decentralized, open, and extensible naming system based on the NEO blockchain. The primary goal of the system is to replace irregular, hard-to-remember strings, such as wallet addresses and smart contract hashes, with words and phrases. NNS will initially provide a name service ending in “.neo.”
The NNS system serves two functions: first, it resolves human-readable names (e.g., beautiful.neo) into machine-readable identifiers (e.g., a NEO address); second, it provides descriptive data for domain names, such as whois information and contract interface descriptions.
The NNS has similar objectives to DNS but, designed around a blockchain architecture, the NNS is decentralized and serves the blockchain network. It operates on a system of hierarchical names separated by dots (called domains), where the owners of domains have complete control over the distribution of subdomains.
The NNC is the proof-of-stake token introduced with the NNS system. To sustain the system, NNS implemented a fee redistribution system. All fees from domain name auctions are entirely redistributed to NNC holders.

- Jason Liu (Liu Yongxin): Co-founder of NEL (a Chinese NEO developer community).
- Jianying Li: CTO and co-founder of NEO core development and co-initiator of NEL (a Chinese NEO developer community).
- Qianming Liu: Core developer and full-time engineer.
- Ben Zhao: Web developer.
- Robbie Wang (Wang Xiangjian): Overseas community operations manager.
