The digital collectibles and trading platform based on NFTs, Rarible, has launched its governance token, RARI. Users can mint, buy, and sell digital collectibles on Rarible without any coding skills. As the platforms user base grows and the market expands, plans are in place for a transition to a fully decentralized autonomous organization in the future. Thus, governance tokens will manage the platforms development and decision-making processes. RARI enables the most active creators and collectors on Rarible to vote on any platform upgrades and participate in governance and curation. RARI is not sold on the platform but is earned through active participation, a method the team refers to as "marketplace liquidity mining." More than half of the total supply of RARI tokens is reserved for sellers and buyers on the Rarible marketplace. The team will distribute RARI tokens weekly based on users weekly purchase and sales volumes.
