Coin Intro | "WHC is the base currency in the Wormhole protocol, fully known as Wormhole Cash. It was issued on August 1, 2018, with an unknown total supply. The reason WHC was introduced into the Wormhole protocol is because: when implementing smart contracts in the Wormhole protocol, the Wormhole protocol layer cannot control Bitcoin Cash, making it impossible to execute transactions at the Wormhole protocol layer. Additionally, when implementing smart contracts, Gas is required as a safeguard against network abuse, which also necessitates the existence of a native base currency within the Wormhole protocol. 1. Usage of WHC: Transaction fees are often used to prevent network abuse or usage that exceeds the current technological and blockchain infrastructure performance limits. In the Wormhole protocol, the execution of smart contracts relies on Bitcoin Cash transactions. Bitcoin Cash transactions themselves require a certain transaction fee, which can already deter DoS attacks; thus, transfers in the early running of the Wormhole protocol do not require payment of WHC as a transaction fee. 2. Situations where WHC transaction fees need to be paid: ①. A 1 WHC transaction fee is charged for creating new WHC coins. The transaction fee is directly burned, reducing the total supply of WHC. Creating WHC coins requires computational resources, and the transaction fee is charged to prevent malicious attacks on Wormhole nodes. ②. Large-scale address transfers. For example, sending tokens to all addresses that own a specific token would require iterating through all addresses, hence requiring WHC as a transaction fee. ③. Gas for smart contracts. ④. Other transactional operations, or other operations deemed to pose a DoS risk. 3. Issuance of WHC: After paying the regular BCH transaction fee and WHC creation fee, anyone can freely create tokens on the WHC system. Currently, the WHC protocol supports three types of token creations: ①. Fixed tokens: after creation, the creator automatically owns all tokens. No additional issuance, burning, or crowdfunding can occur. ②. Crowdfundable tokens: after creation, the creator does not automatically own all tokens. After the crowdfunding period, any unsold tokens are automatically transferred to the creators address. No additional issuance or burning can occur. ③. Managed tokens: upon creation, the token quantity is zero. Crowdfunding is not possible, but additional issuance and burning are allowed. Information about the WHC founding team and background: Not currently available. The current price of WHC is $0.0034060, with a 24-hour trading volume that is not currently provided. There has been no change in WHC over the past 24 hours. Its market capitalization is not currently provided. The circulating supply is not currently provided, nor is the total supply." |
